Original XBOX (XBOX 1) Live Services Shuts Down

The much feared scenario has finally happened to loyal fans and patriots of the first XBOX or XBOX1 game console, XBOX Live Services shutting down for the console.

Microsoft has finally pulled the final curtain to close one gaming chapter to give way to the future of XBOX gaming. It has been seven years or so since Microsoft unveiled its high end gaming console, the original XBOX with its multiplayer and online community capabilities. Friends across distant oceans can be connected with XBOX1 through various XBOX game titles and connectivity features. But like any other good things, this must come to an end.

This doesn't mean that XBOX Live will completely be shutdown for it has now been revamped to fit the new demands of the new market. XBOX Live will now be available to the original XBOX's predecessor, the XBOX 360. Online interaction, multiplayer and online play are still the main features of XBOX Live for the 360. Just like the Playstation Network and the Wii shopping Channel, XBOX Live for the 360 features game downloads, demos, avatar shop and many more using the in-game currency Microsoft Points. Shutting down online support and other live services option for XBOX 360 have been shutdown eventhough there are still dedicated fans playing on the original console and game titles. This is a sad news for the owners of the original XBOX console and game title so expect some flaming on the world of XBOX gaming anytime soon.
