Video games have consistently and continually evolved over the past decade offering more diversity with varying gameplay mechanics, story, features, style and design, genre, and artwork which are all great news to old time and new gamers of varying consoles. Some of the four video game features are single, multiplayer, online and offline. Let's check them out and learn more about them.

The best games out there in the market doesn't necessarily have to possess all of the gaming features and this is the reason why some video games only have one proven and tested game mechanic or feature which gamers are falling in love over and over again: The number of players is the first agenda to be visited. Does the game offers a single or multiplayer gamestyle. Video games have originally been created to be played alone and the multiplayer aspect is just an additional feature so to say. Over the past century, there have been games that are best experienced alone and some with the comforts of a buddy through multiplayer. While all games are single player based, the multiplayer feature is not. Whether it is against a player, or cooperate with them, the multiplayer aspect of video games is one of the most sought after optional features by gamers. Games like Batman: Arkham Asylum, Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Adventure games, and most role playing and casual games are best experience alone. Versus games like the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, real time strategy games and many more are best experienced with two (multi) players. Counter Strike, Boarderlands, Call of Duty, Halo, Fall Out are some more single player shooters to have the best multiplayer feature out there.

Connectivity is another usual game features looked for by most gamers. Does it offer online connectivity or just the simple and local one? Video games, nowadays usually possess online connectivity which is a  completely optional feature for gamers but a highly recommended. This holds specially true for most gamers would want to show off their in-game achievements (which has no real world application or monetary value) through the leaderboards and this is where online connectivity comes in. Also some multiplayers out there are best experienced either with a cooperative or a player-versus-player feature online against playing it locally via split screen. Though some may not be as competitive as others, online connectivity is always a welcome feature to most video games. So in the end, video games are naturally single player and is offline, and options like multiplayer and online connectivity are just bonus features which makes a great or poor game better, or its complete opposite.
