Most online gamers often found themselves spending countless of hours away on online games. Whether it is simply earning chips on a poker flash game over at Facebook, or grinding one's hours away and leveling up in the World of Warcraft, one theme is noticeable and that is achieving something which one can't normally do in the real world.

Video games have been a popular source of home entertainment in the past few decades. The price of the most common next generation game titles may burn from $15 to as high as $60 and above (not to mention special editions), while other game apps offered by smart mobile phones may range from a cent to as expensive as $15. Everything has a price. Though there is nothing wrong with spending one's hard earned cash for some leisure gaming items, one should also consider the gravity and the need for such items. So far video games are a better alternative to some pay to play ort access online games.

There are many popular massive multiplayer online role-playing games (mmorpgs) which may range from free-to-play(f2p) to pay-to-play (p2p). And the problem comes when one is force to maintain his gaming lifestyle by overspending on virtual merchandise to enhance his gaming experience. From paying a regular premium subscriptions to access a full games (p2p mmorpgs), to buying optional specific in-game items (usually on f2p mmorpgs), both these forms of online games may seriously affect/influence the buying habit of their passionate and dedicated  gamers. This is the ultimate goal of gaming publishers, to earn money. Selected gamers who usually buy for such premium services on these various online games  are both gaining and losing. They are gaining virtual wealth which can make their virtual character stands out amongst the rest without the assurance of transcending in the real world. Losing, in the sense of in order to acquire the mentioned virtual in-game wealth, they are wasting their own or their parents hard-earned money just to fulfill that craving.

What happens when a gamer who have invested so much time and money for premium services on these online games finds himself bored or tired of playing that game? What follows is a reflection and recollection of what potentially productive time that one may spent on other things rather than wasting his time and budget on a virtual game... thus, regret comes in. The same also goes when a game stops its services and  all of the sudden shuts down, what left is a gamer hanging and at the end of his wits. He may complain all day long or even curse the gaming publisher, but he can't do anything about it for at the end of the day, the value of one's virtual in-game wealth is nothing compared on what can he have if he builds his wealth on the real productive world.
