Everybody loves music. It is the most common way of expressing oneself. Through music, people can covey what they really feel. The lyrics and the melody will give the listener what feeling and what message the song communicates. People have different preferences when it comes to the music genre. Some like slow-beat songs; others want it hard and loud while some like techno songs and others just like the mixture of all. The television program entitled “Glee” caught the interest of many people most especially the teens. The program revolves with glee club of the school McKinley High in which they call themselves “New Direction”. This group literally started from scratch. They started with only 5 members which were coached by Mr. Will Schuester portrayed by Matthew Morrison. The glee club was lead by their president named Rachel Berry played by Lea Michele. If there are protagonists, then surely antagonists will arise. Ms. Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), coach of the cheering squad, wants to destroy the glee club and will do just anything to crush the group. Also, the other glee club naming “Vocal Adrenaline” is the group’s ultimate rival on every singing competition they enter. The program is amazing and it will keep you wanting for more. For every episode, there will be a specific topic or a particular artist or group the songs will be coming from. Popular episodes were when they do the Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Madonna songs. Certainly, this television show is not just for teens. Some of the episodes featured artists and bands such as Journey, REO Speedwagon, Grease and Michael Jackson. The staffs of the show say that they are planning to do a Paul McCartney and show. They give a new rendition to every song. They change the melody and the way it is sung while maintaining the feelings the song expresses. However, the story plot itself is more likely to catch the teen market. Story revolves on the high school life of a student, its ups and downs, romantic relationships, bully schoolmates, self realizations and how to do self control while having a relationship with the opposite sex. Nonetheless, the show is great. The song covers they do are awesome and the cast’s acting is excellent. One thing that Glee teaches its viewers is to first, to keep the eye on every goal one wants to pursue. Second, to know the value of teamwork and third, to believe in the ability of oneself.
