Video games played a major role in shaping the minds of the children and the entertainment industry for the past three decades. Various films are created from and for video games which signifies its popularity during both the 80's and the 90's. Children stay at home and spend their weekend either playing by themselves or with their friends with their game console of choice. With more than a handful of gaming genres to choose from, one stands out during the late 90's, crossover fighting games.

The Marvel vs. Capcom series is one of the best fighting game genres during the late 90's as it caters to the millions of fans from both the Capcom and Marvel universe. There have been some game titles with Marvel characters on it but to clash out to universe is something a fan has always dreamed of, and Marvel vs. Capcom fulfilled that dream. The first Marvel vs Capcom took the gaming industry by storm back in 1998 on its first release on the arcade. It is one of the best fcrossover fighting game genre during that time which features a number of playable characters both seen in the Marvel and Capcom universes. Both children and adults alike who followed the adventures of their favorite Marvel characters in comics, or played a classic Capcom video game title flocked the game stations just to duke it out with the computer or a player wanting to show his video game fighting prowess. It was a red letter to the fans of both comics and video games. Later, the title was released on the Sega Dreamcast on 1999 and the Playstation back at 2000. From then on, no more waiting in line and wasting so much tokens for some Marvel vs Capcom gaming entertainment.

Just when players thought that they have experienced all the best of both worlds with the first Marvel vs Capcom title, comes its sequel which offers a much more better gameplay mechanics, more characters to choose from and more awesome crossover fighting games. Marvel vs Capcom 2 was a sold out title for the Dreamcast and aracde on 2000, and lateron the Playstation 2 at 2002. And finally after over a decade of fans clamoring for the popular crossover fighting game to once again be sweep them off their feet comes the upcoming 2011, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Faith of Two Worlds.
