Transitions to Different Forms of Gaming Habit

The only thing permanent in this world is change, thus change is quintessential to the development of an individual or an industry. What better example to give than what I have observed and experienced as a gamer.

Back when I was around ten, I first got my first gaming hardware in the form of Sega Genesis 16-bit console. From then on, I became a gamer and played a series of sidescrollers, fighting and some early build adventure 3-D platformers. I have always enjoyed playing alone or with single player games. From Tiny Toons Adventures to Sonic 3-D Blast. But as I grow old, my taste starts to evolve gearing more towards the multiplayer and story driven games. I started inviting high school classmates over every weekend for some multiplayer gaming. We used to Play Mortal Kombat 3, and The Adventures of Batman and Robin. Sadly, my gaming life came to a halt when I focused more on my studies and new consoles come and go.

Fast forward to today. I finally got my hands on a more recent generation console in the form of an xbox 360, and all I can say is I am officially back as a gamer. Not to mention I already finished my studies which makes me ave more time for play. I recently got back to playing alone with roleplaying and action games like Tomb Raider Legends, Final Fantasy XIII, Lost Odyssey, Tales of Vesperia, and Dead Space 2. But after just a year, I started feeling lonely and started buying multiplayer games to play with my siblings so I purchased various games with local multiplayer splitscreen like Raskulls, Plants vs Zombies, Bomberman Live Battlefest, and Monday Night Combat. I also bought some standalone games with local multilayer features like Project Gotham Racing 4, Mortal Kombat 9, and Borderlands. Since my sister is staying a a place near her work making her home only for the weekends, and my brother on his last year on college making him home only a nights, I decided to sign up for an Xbox Live Gold Account to play with people online. I also frequently invite my good friend over to play some splitscreen action with Borderlands.

I also believe that most players have also evolved in their gaming habit as many of the popular and best selling games are MMORPGS (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games), which are all online and features interaction with people online.
