Movies, Television and Video Game Distribution via Digital and Online Orders

Movies, television and video games are the primary sources of entertainment in most household nowadays, but what if you miss that particular movie or television show? Luckily it has been solved via its distributable forms like CDs, DVDs and Blurays. This is a milestone itself and part of the digitalization process but it seems like this no longer enough, and a new form has risen.

Do you remember the days when rental stores are a boom? Too bad as it is slowly being dominated by its highly publicized and commercialized competition, the home delivery video rental services. Companies like Netflix and Gamefly, you can now order your favorite titles through mail and just wait for them to deliver it at your doorsteps. Their services are now extended to Apple's iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and even on next generation consoles like the Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, and the Xbox 360. With a small subscription fee and flat rate for movie titles, Netflix is one of the biggest maid by delivery rental service for the United States and Canada. Recently Netflix now offers Canadian subscribers to stream movies for their consoles which will eventually come to the united states after a month. Gamefly on the other hand is like Netflix for video games. Choose a wide variety of games on their library and rent it for a limited amount of time and if you decided to keep then they will just send the box and the manual for a discounted price.

I still believe that most people would still want to go all the way to the rental store to choose movie titles themselves, but as technology progresses, the convenience of ordering online and waiting for it at home may threaten the old industry of manual rental shops.
